I am a painter, illustrator, craftswoman and a draftswoman and identify myself as an all-round artist although I dedicate much time on painting. I do not limit myself to one subject, medium or concept. Every single piece I make is an expression of my inner feeling from the present and the past. Most of my work is a vehicle field with emotions and creativity through which I construct and give life to my imaginations and dreams. I breathe light and color into the darkened and my work gives hope to the disgruntled. Having worked with a children’s rehabilitation center for some time, I have been inspired a lot to work on subjects more about them in this era in comparison to my childhood memories. I have for the past few years worked with sensitive subjects including Child abuse, Gender based violence, the boy child and my good old days as I represent what I, remember, see, hear, learn and want to put across.
My love for art started way back as a child as I investigated with diverse materials like soil, clay, plant hues and that turned out to be an inspirational sprout that led to the current use and experimentation with different media. I use Acrylic paint as my main medium and canvas as a surface and a fusion of drinking straws, paper rolls and fabric offcuts. My work is a mixture of contemporary and traditional visuals with the experimentation of different conventional and non-conventional materials. My personal character settles calmly in the volatile brush strokes and assemblage.
