Kampala- Uganda.
Following a second deadly wave of the Covid19 virus, the Government of Uganda instituted a 42 day lockdown to curb its spread except for essential workers.
This has left many potential positive patients of the virus locked up at home without access to hospitals.
Jalule, a web based platform known as the ‘A-Z of solutions in Uganda has conceived an innovative idea to create access to Covid19 Testing in Kampala and Wakiso. By working with accredited labs within Kampala, Jalule has added on their platform https://market.dopplertechnology.com an option for people in Kampala to order for the service in their homes.
Progress of the Initiative
The one week old initiative has already provided services to a number of people in Kampala and orders from outside of the Central region.Clients can order through the platform and pay with Mobile Money or Visa. The clients also have an option to call a help line +256 705 428 982 and they are supported to place an order. Using the Jalule Digital Strategy Toolkit developed in partnership with the African Development Bank, Jalule has increased reach over social media platforms and managing orders, questions from clients and also driving traffic to the Jalule website.
